HTC finally unveiled its Facebook smartphone just a couple of weeks ago, but we’re wondering if it stands a chance against the more popular high-end smartphones. Even if you are a complete Facebook addict, would you opt for a Facebook phone over a smartphone that can run the Facebook app and do much more on the device? We’re pitting the HTC First against the two bestsellers, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and the Nokia Lumia 920.

Even though its 4.3-inch screen is the smallest among the 3 devices, the HTC First has the highest resolution of 342 ppi against the Galaxy Note’2 5.5-inch screen with ppi count of 267 and the Read More →

Samsung Galaxy Note III may ditch plastic for better build
One of the most common criticisms of Samsung’s hugely popular Galaxy line of devices is that they use plastic cases that are less durable and of lower quality than the aluminum builds of the iPhone 5 and the HTC One. One of SamMobile’s sources says that the company is taking this criticism to heart, however, and is considering upping the build quality for its next Galaxy Note “phablet” because it is supposedly “worried” about the perception that it uses second-rate materials. While this news would be welcomed by many Samsung fans, there are some reasons to doubt whether Samsung will really ditch plastic going forward. In the first place, the plastic builds make Samsung devices much easier to mass produce than rival devices and the high yields help Read More →

U.S. court backs Internet TV startup, dealing setback to broadcasters, cable companies
NEW YORK — An Internet company offering inexpensive live broadcast television feeds to computers, tablets and smartphones doesn’t violate U.S. copyright law, a divided federal appeals court said Monday.

The 2-to-1 ruling by the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals cleared the way for Aereo Inc.’s expansion of its $8-a-month service, which had been limited to New York City until this year. Several weeks ago, the company expanded to New York City suburbs, including New Jersey and parts of Connecticut, and it has announced plans to expand to Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington and 18 other U.S. markets later this year.
Broadcasters including Fox, ABC, CBS, NBC and others had sued, saying Aereo copies and retransmits their programs as they are first aired without permission.

iPhone 6 release date, news and updates
When Apple unveiled the iPhone 5, the reaction was a bit muted: where previous phones were massive leaps forward, the iPhone 5 was a bit longer and a lot easier to scratch.
So what can we expect from the next iPhone, the iPhone 6 or 5S? Let’s see what the crystal balls are saying.

One thing is for sure, with the release of such super handsets as the Samsung Galaxy S4, Sony Xperia Z and HTC One, the next iPhone will have to seriously up its game.
We’ve rounded-up all the rumours on Apple’s forthcoming iPhone 6 to see what the device might have in store.
Rumours of the iPhone 6 have been around since the iPhone 5 launched and have gone hand-in-hand with rumours of the iPhone 5S. Samsung Unveils Galaxy 4 realeased worldwide (positive responce)
Samsung has unveiled its latest and most-hyped smartphone, the Galaxy S4, which allows users to control its 5in (12.5cm) screen using only their eyes.
The phone, the first in the highly successful Galaxy S-series to make its global debut on US soil, was showcased in New York on Thursday, with the South Korean electronics giant challenging US rival Apple on its home turf.
The S4 can stop and start videos depending on whether someone is looking at the screen, flip between songs and photos at the wave of a hand, and record sound to run alongside snapped still pictures.

The S4, which Samsung preceded with a marketing launch that drummed up industry speculation reminiscent of some of Apple’s past launches, will be available by the end of April.
The device will be rolled out to 327 carriers in 155 countries, including US service providers Read More →
Sony PlayStation 4 now official
Sony may not have had an actual box to display. But it has revealed the innards of its next-gen PlayStation 4 games console. And it’s pure PC.

The CPU is an AMD design with eight x86-64, low-power Jaguar cores, while the graphics core is also from AMD and derived from its latest Radeon HD family and roughly equivalent to a 7850 graphics board. But does that matter? Possibly. Here’s why.
In really simple terms (and this assumes leaked info on the next console from Microsoft turns out to be correct), games development just got a whole lot easier. Read More →
new Nokia Lumia 720 new pictures MWC
MSN- MWC 2013 didn’t see the high-end Nokia Lumia PureView handset that we all hoped for, but there were a couple more additions to the ever-growing Lumia family – most notably the Nokia Lumia 720. The Nokia Lumia 720 fits underneath the Lumia 820, lacking the 4G skills and the engine room of its bigger brother. Therefore, it will be more affordable (around £200 offline we’re told) and could represent a great step into the Windows Phone world for anyone wary of taking the plunge. The main focus (pun definitely intended) of the Lumia 720 is its camera setup. It has a 6.7-megapixel Carl Zeiss lens and an impressive aperture of f/1.9. And there are plenty of photo based apps preloaded for editing and playing with your pictures such as Cinemagraph and Nokia Glam Read More →
Appeals court slashes Samsung patent fine to Apple
A judge has almost halved a more than $1 billion fine against Samsung payable to Apple after a patent lawsuit. The San Francisco court ruled that the previous fine was calculated on false premises and should be reduced. On Friday, US District Court Judge Lucy Koh ruled that Samsung Electronics should pay Apple a fine of $598 million (459.4 million euros) rather than a previous patent penalty of over $1 billion. The original fine was issued when a trial found that 14 Samsung products had violated Apple patents. Koh struck $450.5 million from Samsung’s tab, saying that Apple had sought damages from the moment of the products’ launch, not the point when the legal Read More →
